September Newsletter

Wow, summer went by fast but we are so happy to be back here at Maplewood. As the school year gets started please remember to drop off and pick up your scholars in the drop off/pick up lane or park in a parking spot and let you scholars get off or in the car safely.  Please do NOT drop them off or pick them up in the middle of the street as this caused safety concerns for everyone.  

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: 2nd-5th graders, starts September 10th and will run Tuesday-Thursday from 3:00-5:00pm  Permission slips must be signed before students can attend.

Reading Achievers: 1st-2nd graders, every Wednesday from 2:50-3:45. Look for permission slips

 

Note from Health Office: Please turn in any updated immunizations to the Health Clerk.

 

Cafecito(Principal Chats)=Come meet with Mr. Reyes and learn about the exciting things happening at Maplewood.  This is also a great time to ask Mr. Reyes any questions you may have.

Choir started August 29th and will be held every Tuesday & Thursday at 7:00am

NO SCHOOL: September 2nd & 23rd

 

Field Trip=September 24th for 4th graders to Centennial Village

 

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering Adult English Classes again this year and will start on September 10th.  These classes will be held every Tuesday & Thursday from 5:15-7:00pm. Childcare will be provided.

Motheread/Fatheread is another great Adult class that will start September 17th.  This class is a 6 week class and will be held every Tuesday from 3:00-4:30pm.  This classes parents how to read for fun to their kids and they will also do fun activities that they can then take home and do with their kids. Uniform Donations:  If you have gently used uniforms that you are no longer needing, please consider donating them to Maplewood.  We have a donation bin located in the main hallway.

Kid's Hope will start with after school mentoring in September 10th and lunch mentoring will start the week of September 17th.  Questions can be directed to Jessica Fernandez 970-348-3818
